UMC-200 Firmware Update – Version 1.52.02.39 (May 16, 2013)

PLEASE read ALL notes on this page before proceeding with your rmware update, and

please follow all instructions EXACTLY when perfoming the update procedure!

NOTE 1: This is the rst rmware update released for the UMC-200 since initial product release, and xes

several bugs identied in the initial release rmware, as well as implementing several minor improvements.

This update is recommended for all UMC-200 owners.

NOTE 2: YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RESET YOUR UMC-200 TO FACTORY DEFAULTS AFTER PERFORMING

THIS UPDATE, AT WHICH POINT ALL USER SETTINGS WILL BE LOST. Please write down all user settings

before performing the update as they will be deleted when the update is performed and you will be

required to re-enter them.

NOTE 3: ALL EMOQ SETTINGS WILL BE LOST WHEN YOU RESET THE UMC-200 TO FACTORY DEFAULTS AFTER

PERFORMING THE UPDATE. To restore EmoQ calibration, simply re-run EmoQ after the update procedure is

complete.

NOTE 4: WHEN CONFIGURING YOUR UMC-200, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REASSIGN THE BLUETOOTH HOT KEY.

This rmware update xes several minor bugs, including the ability to save Playback settings when the

UMC-200 is powered O. We are, however, aware of one trivial bug that remains: In the Hot Key Menu, the

assignment of the Bluetooth Hot Key MUST NOT be changed. Because of the bug, however, the

UMC-200 will allow you to attempt to change this key assignment, but doing so will result in the

conguration becoming corrupted (and probably requiring that it be reset).

NOTE 5: SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY. The rmware updater application and driver available for download

from the Emotiva website have been tested and veried to work reliably with the following computer

operating systems:

Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit versions)

Windows XP

NOTE 6: REPEAT INSTALLS. Once the rmware installs successfully, there is no benet in re-installing it

repeatedly (it won’t “sound better” if you do so). While you may be instructed by Emotiva Technical Support

to reinstall your rmware at some point, we do NOT otherwise recommend reinstalling it once it has been

successfully installed in an attempt to “make the UMC-200 sound better”.

NOTE 7: THE USB PORT ON THE REAR OF THE UMC-200 IS INTENDED *ONLY* FOR FIRMWARE UPDATES.

IF A USB CABLE IS INSERTED INTO THE USB PORT, *EVEN IF THE OTHER END IS NOT PLUGGED IN*, YOUR

UMC-200 MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. ONLY CONNECT A CABLE TO THE USB PORT WHEN INSTRUCTED

TO DO SO, AND DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE *AT THE UMC-200 END* WHEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.

FAILURE TO UNPLUG THE CABLE FROM THE UMC-200 MAY RESULT IN IMPROPER OPERATION, INCLUDING

A TOTAL (TEMPORARY) LOSS OF VIDEO OUTPUT AND/OR VARIOUS DSP ERRORS.
